World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. The charities mission is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child the opportunity to have a book of their own.

This year, World Book Day is on the 4th of March.

The Early Years took part in celebrating all things books! The nursery children explored lots of traditional tales- their favourite one being The 3 Little Pigs. To celebrate their love of books and book characters, the children all came into school dressed up as their favourite book character. We saw a snail and the whale, Rapunzel, the Gruffalo, Elsa, Little Red Riding Hood and Peter Rabbit. To save the day, we had 2 super heroes… The incredible Hulk and Captain America!

Reception spent the day learning all about The BFG! We had a go at creating our own dream jars using glass, tissue paper and all things sparkly! The children also learnt the art of chocolate making, as they melted the chocolate, poured it into moulds and added different chocolaty toppings. We wonder whether Willy Wonka will approve?
