Garden Design and Landscape project 2020-2021
This academic year, the Early years team have decided to improve their outdoor area by growing edible produce. Miss B (who will be leading the project), will be guiding us in how to do this.
We intend to create 3 areas within our playground;
1) Sensory garden– Where we shall grow herbs such as Rosemary, Lavender, Thyme, Basil and Mint
Rosemary: is a woody, perennial herb with fragrant, evergreen, needle-like leaves. It has white, pink, purple, or blue flowers and is native to the Mediterranean region.
Lavender: is an evergreen shrub, grown for its powerful scent, attraction to bees, culinary uses and flowers that can be picked and dried.
Thyme: is famed for its versatility in cooking and healing. It’s also easy to grow and looks attractive all year round.
Basil: This popular annual herb is an essential ingredient in Italian cooking with strongly flavoured leaves that can be used to enhance the flavour in food.
Mint: This popular annual herb is an essential ingredient in Italian cooking with strongly flavoured leaves that can be used to enhance the flavour in food.
2) Wildlife garden- Where we shall grow a range of flowers to attract wildlife.
3) Fruit and vegetable garden- Where we shall grow seasonal fruit and vegetables that we can enjoy all year round.

We anticipate on getting lots of old car types to use as raised beds for the flowers, fruits and vegetables. We shall also be recycling the plastic milk containers and using them as floating plant pots.
